This is part 3 of a series entitled, “The Immutable Word of God.” Let me remind you that when something is “Immutable” it is incapable of being changed. Remember, the laws of God are like the laws of physics. They cannot be altered. There are many laws or principles in the word of God that are unchangeable. They can always be trusted, and when believed, will produce a certain result. We have looked at 2 such spiritual laws so far. The first law states that God will never stop loving us. This law is established clearly in Romans chapter 8 by the Apostle Paul. The second law we examined says that we can have perfect peace in our lives if we so desire. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace, and it is His will to instill true peace in the lives of His children, regardless of life’s circumstances.

The third law proclaims that God can, and will, guide us in everything we do, and everywhere we go. We are told in Proverbs 3:5-6 to, “Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” This law, like the first two we have examined, is immutable. It is incapable of being changed. We can, however, refuse to acknowledge God’s guidance and direction in our lives. Doing so will not change God’s law, but it will change the outcome. I meet a lot of people who desire to choose their own path in life, but they don’t want to use the spiritual compass God has made available to them. They frequently complain when things don’t go well, and occasionally even blame God for their predicament. To trust in our own intellect rather than the divine guidance that God can supply is generally a foolish decision.

God is ready to guide us everyday. He is able to direct each step we take, leading us in a direction that will provide a blessing for us, and bring glory to Him. Let’s claim this third law on a daily basis, and begin experiencing a new course for our lives.
