This is the last of a 6 part series on the Immutable Word of God. Let me remind you that “Immutable” means incapable of being changed. We have discovered how God’s truth, revealed in the Bible, is incapable of being changed, because God, Himself, will never change. His promises will always be true. The psalmist declared that God’s word was forever settled in heaven. Below is a list of the 5 immutable laws of God that we have examined: - Nothing can separate us from the love of God All of God’s laws are eternally true, but, as we have seen, they are also conditional. They all require faith on the part of the believer. James explains what is expected of those who seek God for wisdom. “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. Let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” It is important to note that when we fail to trust God, we shut ourselves off from His blessings. “Without faith it is impossible to please Him.” In addition, our unbelief will produce instability in every area of our lives. Nothing is more important than trusting the promises contained in the Word of God. Everything that God does is based on the truth He has revealed to us. In fact, His word is the only thing in the entire world that we can totally trust. His word endures forever. I pray that you will meditate on the 6 immutable laws we have examined and place them in your heart. Claim them for yourself, and those you love, on a regular basis. There has never been more imperative to know, and use, God’s word than in these last days. We must not attempt to base our decisions on our feelings. Only immutable truth can direct us. |
